Building Virtual Worlds

This is an academic Project in the Entertainment Technology Center of Carnegie Mellon University

In a team of 5, we created a new entertainment experience with deliverable working build for each round in a time duration of 1 to 2 weeks. We produced creative games that could be played with various types of inputs and play-tested with different target audiences to make quick iterations.

As a UIUX designer and artist, I contributed with my specialty to make our ideas come true and also collaborated with other artist, programmers and sound designer to figure out effective solutions for game design in terms of the mechanism, input, levels, etc.

My Role: UIUX Designer, Solo Artist

Platform: Desktop and Air-console

Time Duration: 1 week

My Tools: Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop

Deliverables: Unity Build and Web-based Control

Create a world that has something fun for guests to do in one week. The key is to have a good idea that is fun to play with, preferably one that can be implemented simply.

Time Duration: 2 weeks

My Tools: Maya, Photoshop, Unity

Deliverables: Unity Build

Create a consistent, highly interactive, and engaging experience that lets naïve guests feel like they have a lot of freedom in the choices they make. Take indirect control as a tool to make your world seem larger and richer than it really is. No direct instruction is allowed to be given to the guest.
